The Need to Choose Less Toxic Ingredients to Clean Childcare Centers
Childcare centers cater to infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Babies are very curious and are likely to put everything that they see in their mouths. At or around six months of age, infants start crawling or scooting on the floor. Toddlers and preschoolers also spend a lot of time playing with toys on floors. All items that children touch on a daily basis in a childcare center should be properly cleaned and disinfected before and after school hours. During school hours, these items should be sanitized often to prevent the spread of germs. Exposure to Chemicals When cleaning childcare facilities, it’s important to use safe janitorial products and supplies to prevent children from being exposed to toxic chemicals. Basic household cleaning agents can negatively impact an infant or toddler’s health more significantly than an adult’s. Children are more prone to experiencing allergic reactions of the skin, asthma attacks and eye irritations.
